We’re bubbling over with excitement to share some news that’s as fresh as the morning dew on our tomato plants.
In line with our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and nurturing growth — both in our greenhouse and our community — we at Tomaties are stepping into the field of local youth sports. We’re proud to announce that we are now official sponsors of a kids’ baseball team right here in our vibrant city of Edmonton! ⚾
Sport and gardening share a lot in common: they both require patience, care, and a willingness to grow. They also promote physical health and mental well-being. As a homegrown Edmonton business, we couldn’t think of a better way to give back to our community than by supporting a local baseball team. This sponsorship represents our commitment to cultivating health, growth, and a spirit of community.
The team, affectionately known as the “Tomato Titans,” is comprised of enthusiastic youngsters who show the same dedication to their sport as we do to our ‘dependents’ – our tomato plants. We’re excited to see their passion in action, and we are committed to nurturing their talents just like we nurture our tomato plants.
Baseball is a fantastic sport that teaches kids valuable life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. In sponsoring the Tomato Titans, we hope to foster these qualities while also promoting an active lifestyle. Plus, we think a post-match snack of our freshly picked tomatoes will be a refreshing treat the kids will love! 🍅
Beyond providing the team with financial support, we plan to introduce the young players and their families to the wonders of tomato gardening. They’ll have an opportunity to tour our garden centre, learn about different tomato varieties, and perhaps even plant a few tomato seeds of their own. Our aim is to encourage these youngsters to make healthier dietary choices by educating them on the benefits of homegrown tomatoes.
So, join us in cheering for the Tomato Titans in their upcoming season! We’ll be posting regular updates about the team’s progress, so be sure to check back for the latest news. We’re incredibly proud to be part of this initiative, and we can’t wait to see what our young baseball stars achieve.
Here’s to health, growth, and a successful baseball season! Together, we’re planting the seeds for a healthier, stronger community.
